The original, legendary RCR designed by fellow member Rich Ball who also designed the RAB balloons and many other community favorites.
The RCR is known for its thick neck and beautifully round bulb. Several thousand were produced many years ago. By special request, Rich is considered loaning 59Balloons several ceramic formers so we can stock up on fresh RCRs in colors not offered before.
This balloon was designed and developed before 3D modeling and 3D printers were common. Rich is considered bringing out the master former, making a mould and casting a few new formers just for members. These will not be “replicas” or other unauthorised copies but the real/original RCR 8 fluted 36x20 balloons. However, please note that the latex formula used to create any balloon has a huge impact on how the balloon inflates, feels, smells and performs. My latex is quite different than the original.
But before we get too excited… recasting ceramic formers will require an investment and it’s only worth the effort and expense if members want them. I have set up this balloon as a prebuy - pay later to see how much interest there is. If these interest you please indicate how many you would consider buying. This is just to gage demand. Colors, strength and other characteristics will come later.
This is an amazing chance to either stock up and replenish your stash or to try a legendary balloon that is almost impossible to get these days.
